The Grass is always Greener

I am sooooo that SoCal gal that's always complaining about the weather.  Anything below 60 and I'm freezing...anything above 80 and I won't leave the house for days.  Woke up this morning to blue skies, birds chirping, wind in my hair, and sunshine on my face...naturally I threw on a bright bold frock ready to attack the world and scream SPRING is in the air!!!...Alas the sun shone so hot I'm now back indoors and cooling in the shade.  Doggone days of bitter cold winters...where you be???
Ice tunic, Paola Ferri boots, Arden B Scarf, A/X Turquoise Satchel, Christian Dior Sunnies, Vintage hat and belt, F21 Necklaces, World Market Bangles, Macy's Stone Ring

Hope y'all are enjoying a hot and cool Thursday!!!

The Waikiki EDITION

Ian Shrager's really done it again with a hip and happenin' Honolulu hotel rivaling the best of 'em by the bay. Marriot's first ever boutique hotel collaboration with the genius behind famed Mondrian, Delano, and Gramercy Park institutions (to name a few) yields a fresh and funky interior design celebrating the indie surfer's lifestyle, complete with a whimsical assortment of old and new Hawaii traditions. Wall art comprised of over 100 broken boards greets guests at the front desk...An entire library of rotating books and artwork by famous locals lines the lobby...They've even got Iron Chef Morimoto in the mix with an in house restaurant featuring famous signature dishes of Tuna Pizza and Toro Tartare. Having been searching for the perfect spot to pack my bags come Summer for my gf's destination wedding (Congrats S!!!), I think we've finally found a hit y'all.

If the bf is reading this...book HERE honey...Paradise awaits!!!
Peace. Love. LOL

Garden Party

62 degrees on a near perfect sunny SoCal day. When the weather gets this gosh darn gorgeous, I find it tough to concentrate on anything other than celebrating springtime with a fabulous fĂȘte fit for all my beautiful bosom buddies. Brunch time setup in my very own backyard, rows upon rows of perfectly placed Venetian mirrors to double the pleasure, double the fun, gleaming crystal accents for a touch of class, and overhead chandeliers for instant glitz and glam. It may appear as if we've got a wedding in the works, but truth be told, that's simply how we roll here in the West Coast my loves...Apparently my judgment's been clouded by that gosh darn SoCal smog as well. Ahhhh well, a girl can only dream...

Peace. Love. LOL

Spring Cleaning

I grow pretty bored of my surroundings pretty fast. It's the ongoing curse of every interior designer I swear! What started as a simple 5 minute repurposing project turned into a complete overhaul of reorganizing, then repainting my entire bathroom. As if attacking such feat wasn't enough to scratch the growing itch, I then jumped over to cleaning out my mama's closet aka the collector's dream wardrobe overflowing with new/old unworn clothes, tons of travel toiletries, and boxes of BS from rolodex business cards to international coins hidden in every pant/purse/parka pocket from the last few decades to the present. I felt like Peter Walsh during an unsuspecting Hoarder's ambush where I school Moms on the importance of collecting memories, versus amassing material things to make up for whatever's missing in her life. In the end, Mama got the memo and I got to walk away with her vintage Dooney and Bourke leather satchel featured in the ensemble below. SCOOOOOOOOORE!!!  All it takes is the first step hunnies, who knows what treasures await on the other side ;D

Express Cardigan, Threads for Thought Tee, Bindya Scarf, David Bitton Trouser Shorts, Betsey Johnson OTK Socks, Diba Platties, Thrifted Belt, Vintage D&B Satchel, Gucci Sunnies, Macy's Earrings and Flower Ring, F21 Wood and Black Rings

Happy Monday Peeps!

DIFFA's Dining by Design 2011

Instead of our regular Food Porn Friday programming, I thought I'd leave you coverage from my FAVE annual Dining by Design event sponsored by DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) and coinciding with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show last week in New York.  You might remember my fave table installations seen HERE from last year's shindig and every year it just keeps getting more and more inspired.  I'm especially loving David Stark's and Coffinier KU's whimsical use of trompe-l'oeil techniques with the painted moldings and wall treatments...fresh, fun, young, and vibrant- right up my alley and PERFECT for spring!

For more information on DIFFA and upcoming events click HERE

Hope you all enjoy a fantastic weekend- Happy FRIDAY!!!

If you build it, he will come

I'm one of those girls who truly believes that you get what you ask for.  By soliciting that sort of energy to the universe you will either
a) change the cosmos with your vibrating premonitions of forthcoming fate and destiny
b) change your own actions with the constant repetition of vocal programming.
Either way, the fact that I shop for a living requires me to channel all my good vibes into expecting that each and every excursion will yield exactly what I'm looking for.  Chunky sweaters for transitional dressing between the seasons...gorgeous estate jewelry to add to my growing collection...top handle satchels for grabbing on the go...hats, scarves, and hootenannies for that finishing touch...No matter what my intuition, I find it best to lay it all out there and let the universe do its thing.  It's called the law of attraction peeps, look into it and lemme know how it works for you!
Vintage hat, Bf's Ted Baker shirt, Central Park West Sweater, F21 accessories, Chloe Bag, LAMB pumps, Marc Jacobs Sunnies

I'm off to go thrifting now....*Law of Attraction in full effect!~*

Peace. Love. LOL
